At 3:56 a.m. BST on 21 July, 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped out of the Apollo 11 lunar lander to become the first man to set foot on the surface of the Moon. One of the key moments in 20th century history, it was watched with breathless anticipation around the world. In 2009, the Isle of Man issued a dazzling 40th Anniversary coin featuring the iconic image of an Apollo 11 astronaut standing on the Moon’s cratered surface. It’s an out-of-this-world coin that is a rarely-seen tribute to the events that changed the course of history.
