The World of David Walliams complete series summed up

In October 2021, we launched a stunning 50 pence coin series with each coin featuring one of the seven best-selling novels by internationally acclaimed children’s author, David Walliams OBE. This set was issued on behalf of the Government of Gibraltar.

 

1/7: Boy in the Dress

The first coin in the series of The World of David Walliams™ features Walliams’ first novel The Boy in the Dress, a story about a boy who isn’t afraid to be different. The design on the coin shows the image of the front cover from the novel and is available in Cupro-Nickel Diamond Finish and Proof Sterling Silver in astonishing colour to match the original illustrations by Quentin Blake.

 

2/7: Mr Stink

The second coin in the series features Walliams’ second novel Mr Stink, a wonderfully written tale of a young girl called Chloe who befriends a witty tramp called Mr Stink. The design on the coin shows the image of the front cover from the novel and is available in Cupro-Nickel Diamond Finish and Proof Sterling Silver in astonishing colour to match the original illustrations by Quentin Blake.

 

3/7: Billionaire Boy

The third coin in the series of The World of David Walliams™ features Walliams’ third novel Billionaire Boy, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books. Billionaire Boy is a story about Joe Spud, the richest boy in the country who seemingly has everything he could ever want, other than a friend. The design on the coin shows the image of the front cover from the novel and is available in cupro-nickel diamond finish and proof sterling silver in astonishing colour to match the original illustrations by award-winning Tony Ross.

 

4/7: Gangsta Granny

The fourth coin in the series features Walliams’ fourth novel Gangsta Granny. This is a tale of a young boy, Ben, who is bored beyond belief after he is made to stay at his grandma’s house. However, Ben soon finds out his grandma was once an international jewel thief and is plotting to steal the Crown Jewels, but needs Ben’s help in order to do so. 5/7: Ratburger

The fifth coin in the series of The World of David Walliams™ features Walliams’ fifth novel Ratburger, the story about a little girl called Zoe. Things are not looking good for Zoe. Her stepmother Sheila is so lazy she gets Zoe to pick her nose for her and the school bully Tina makes her life a misery. But now the evil Burt from Burt’s Burgers is after her pet rat! 6/7: Awful Auntie

The sixth coin in the series of The World of David Walliams™ features Walliams’ novel Awful Auntie, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books – a story about Stella Saxby. Stella is the sole heir to Saxby Hall and is plagued by her awful Aunt Alberta and her giant owl, but Stella has a secret and slightly spooky weapon up her sleeve. 7/7: Grandpa's Great Escape 

The seventh and final coin in the series of The World of David Walliams™ features Walliams’ novel Grandpa’s Great Escape. This book entails the story of a boy called Jack and his Grandpa's sky high adventure, speeding in a Spitfire to save the day.
