Commemorating 40 Years of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands
Posted: June 09, 2022In honour of the 40th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands, we have put together a list of our releases that commemorate this historic event.
Liberation Day takes place on the 14th of June and commemorates the end of the occupation of the Falkland Islands by Argentina in 1982. Islanders gather at Christ Church Cathedral to mark the occasion with a thanksgiving service, followed by wreath-laying at the Liberation Monument and a military parade. The day is a public holiday in the Falkland Islands.

British Antarctic Territory Commemorates 60 years from it's Formation in 1962
Posted: January 20, 20222022 marks 60 years since the formation of the British Antarctic Territory in 1962. The UK’s claim to this part of Antarctica is the oldest of any made on the continent. Pobjoy Mint announced the release of a brand new £2 coin to commemorate such history milestone.

The Queen's Beasts Series: A Royal Birthday
Posted: November 29, 20212021 marked HM Queen Elizabeth II's 95th Birthday, and in celebration of this, Pobjoy Mint released a 10 coin series depicting the Queen’s Beasts on behalf of the British Indian Ocean Territory.
The Queen’s Beasts are 10 heraldic statues that represent the genealogy of HM Queen Elizabeth II, with each beast depicting a Royal Supporter of England. Upon HM Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, they stood in front of the temporary western annex of Westminster Abbey and were originally uncoloured except for their shields.
