British Indian Ocean Territory Turtles 50p Series: Loggerhead Turtle 2019 Coloured Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish

Pobjoy Mint is excited to announce the release of the penultimate Turtle in the British Indian Ocean Territory 50p Series. This stunning new coin features the Loggerhead Turtle. 

The Loggerhead Turtle is the world's largest hard-shelled turtle and gets its name from its broad, strong head. Referred to as generalist predators, they use their strong heads and powerful jaws to crush the shells of conches, lobsters and other hard-shelled invertebrates. 

The design on the coin itself features the Loggerhead Turtle swimming in the ocean. The obverse of the coin features the Pobjoy Mint exclusive Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The coin is available in Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish with the Loggerhead Turtle being portrayed in colour. A special colour collector's album, which is sold separately, has been designed to house all five coins.
