British Indian Ocean Territory Turtles 50p Series: Olive Ridley Turtle 2019 Coloured Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish

The Olive Ridley turtle name comes from their greenish colour of its skin and shell or carapace. The Olive Ridley is one of the smallest of the sea turtles, weighing up to 100 pounds and reaching only about 2 feet in shell length. The Olive Ridley sea turtles are considered the most abundant, yet globally they have declined by more than 30% from historic records. This stunning 50 pence coin features an Olive Ridley turtle which is really brought to life with the exquisite colour. The obverse of the coin features the Pobjoy Mint Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is produced in Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish and will be housed in a blue pouch. A special colour album, which is sold separately, has been designed to house all five coins.
