To celebrate the fact that Her Majesty reaches her 85th Birthday this year, Pobjoy Mint is delighted to announce the release of a superb new commemorative coin on behalf of the British Virgin Islands' Government (BVI).
The design on this uncirculated cupro nickel collector's coin shows Her Majesty riding side-saddle at a 'Trooping the Colour' ceremony. In honour of the Queen’s 85th Birthday, a new obverse has been commissioned showing a unique double effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The first effigy is Mary Gillick’s portrait that first appeared on coins at the start of Her Majesty’s reign, while the second is an up-to-date effigy of Her Majesty.
Available in Uncirculated Cupro Nickel and Sterling Silver, each precious metal version has been struck four times to achieve the Pobjoy proof finish.
