Flamingos Series: Lesser Flamingo - 2019 Coloured Virenium 1 Dollar Coin

Pobjoy Mint is proud to announce the final release in the series of six coins in the series which feature the astounding flamingos on behalf of the British Virgin Islands.The lesser flamingo (Phoenicoparrus mirror) is a species of flamingo mainly occurring in sub-Saharan Africa. The Lesser flamingo is the smallest species of flamingo, although it is tall and a large bird by most standards. The species can weigh from 1.2 to 2.7 kg and standing height between 80 to 90cm.

The final coin in the series features a flock of lesser flamingos congregated together, the reddish pink colour is really accentuated in its body.

The coin shows most of the plumage is pinkish white with slightly darker pink legs. The adult Flamingos on the coin have a pink plumage. The obverse of the coin features the exclusive Pobjoy Mint effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
