British Virgin Islands 2013 - Prince George’s Christening: Duke - Uncirculated Cupro Nickel Coin

Two coins, issued by the British Virgin Islands, depict Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both elegantly attired in eveningwear, following their wedding in 2011.

Bearing an image of Prince William, this beautiful collector’s coin is struck in Uncirculated Cupro Nickel and includes the addition of a special Privy Mark – tiny footprints and the date of Prince George’s birth. The coin is also available with the Privy Mark specially coloured in a beautiful blue to signify the birth of a boy, and is also available with the image of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Available in Uncirculated Cupro Nickel and Proof Sterling Silver, each of these incredible commemorative coins has been produced to the highest quality. The precious metal coins have been struck four times to create the famous Pobjoy Proof finish and feature frosted sculpting against a mirror brilliant background.

The obverse of each coin carries an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. Ian Rank-Broadley is one of the foremost sculptors working today. His effigy of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II has appeared on all UK coinage since 1998 and the Pobjoy Mint has exclusive use of the ‘uncouped’ effigy that appears on the obverse of these coins.

The first time since Queen Victoria’s era, that there have been three living male heirs, these three coins, individually or as a striking set, provide the perfect souvenir to mark Prince George of Cambridge’s birth.
