Isle of Man 2013 - Queen Elizabeth: Lifetime of Service - Cupro Nickel Crown

Available as an Uncirculated Cupro Nickel Crown, every coin has been finished to the exacting high standards that distinguish a Pobjoy Mint coin. The obverse of all coins carry an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lord of Mann, by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. Ian Rank-Broadley is one of the foremost sculptors working today. His effigy of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II has appeared on all UK coinage since 1998 and the Pobjoy Mint has exclusive use of the ‘uncouped’ effigy that appears on the obverse of these coins.

A lifetime of service

Both Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip have dedicated the last 60 years to serving their country and its people. They married on the 20th November 1947 and today have four children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The Queen acceded to the Throne on the 6th February 1952, following the death of her father, King George VI. She is the second longest serving monarch, after Queen Victoria, and her coronation was attended by 8,251 guests with the return route to Buckingham Palace specially designed to ensure that as many people as possible could see the Queen and her procession. As part of the 2013 celebrations, a special Service of Celebration was held at Westminster Abbey and attended by Her Majesty and the rest of the Royal Family.
