Pobjoy Mint is delighted to announce the second coin in the stunning new series of 50p coins featuring Sea Creatures issued on behalf of the British Indian Ocean Territory. The second coin in the collection features the widespread Powder Blue Tang, also known as the Powder Blue Surgeonfish. They have an oval body shape with extremely colourful, bold markings. Blue tangs can be found in the clear waters on and surrounding coral reefs. They inhabit a wide range that stretches from the Pacific to the Indian Oceans. They are easy to spot, thanks to their characteristically vibrant colourations of royal blue and canary yellow. The coin is available in Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish with the Powder Blue Tang portrayed in full colour really bringing its colourful nature to life. A special colour album, which is sold separately, has been designed to house all six coins of the collection. The coin is also available in coloured Proof Sterling Silver.
